A solar power plant has been transformed into a “greenhouse” in the heart of Brisbane.
The Brisbane City Council announced plans to install a solar array and photovoltaic system at a residential property near the CBD.
The development is being built on the site of a former military barracks and will be used to power a solar-powered power plant.
The City Council said the installation would be completed by the end of the year and could cost up to $15 million.
The solar panels would be installed on the rear of the building, and the solar system will be able to capture and store energy from the sun.
“The development of a solar facility on this site is a great example of our city’s dedication to sustainability,” Mayor Peter Watson said.
“The City has been making great strides towards making Brisbane the most sustainable city in Australia and the latest development shows that it is just as much a work in progress.”
The development has been in the works for more than two years, with council members and the local community expressing their excitement.
City Council member Tony Brown said it was “pretty exciting”.
“The solar plant will be a good example of how our city can achieve energy independence and make a contribution to climate change,” he said.
“It will also provide a lot of income for local residents.”
Our city is now one of the first cities in Australia to have a solar plant that can capture energy from solar.
This is a win-win for the City of Brisbane, the local residents, the solar plant and the city of Brisbane.
“Solar power in Brisbane is booming, with the latest figures showing that there were 5,923 MW of capacity installed last year, up 10 per cent on the previous year.
The project will also be used as a temporary greenhouse for the construction of a new greenhouse for a new hospital, according to Brisbane City Environment Manager Paul Bugg.
In addition, the project will be home to the Brisbane City Government’s new “green” office, which will be open from January until May.
The solar array is being installed on a residential site next to the CBD’s new Westgate Shopping Centre.
